HOLY TRINITY PRIMARY SCHOOL
Community Social Cohesion & making the best use of the school’s budget, were both major priorities for the Headteacher & school bursar. Together, they came to the best possible decision…..donate to Computers 4 Africa.
UK schools working in partnership with Computers 4 Africa have the opportunity to gather evidence of (1) sound environmental decision making and (2) community & social cohesion. By working with a charity that has both a national and international presence good citizenship and a positive portfolio is demonstrated to Ofsted inspectors.
2) The Savings
Schools are responsible for disposing of electrical waste according to WEEE directives. Holy Trinity had a choice of using valuable resources, which could be put to better use elsewhere or donating their equipment to Computers 4 Africa at no cost.
3) Update: 5 Years After Donating
After 5 years of a good relationship there were two exciting developments. The school sent its Network Manager accompanied by Computers 4 Africa to Tanzania. He saw first hand the impact computers had on education & the kit from Holy Trinity still in use after 5 years. Computers 4 Africa also returned to the Holy Trinity. This visit consisted of a launch assembly followed by a two-day community collection appeal where members of the Gravesham community were invited to donate unwanted IT.
